Ministry is a spiritual activity that culminates into physical impact.

As you do ministry, there are times you will want to perfect in the flesh, that which began in the spirit.

When you see these signs playing out in your ministry, know that you have used the way of the flesh to pursue God’s instructions. And the flesh produces nothing more than death (sin).

Here are Six signs that you are doing ministry with a carnal mind and unrenewed heart;

1. OBSESSION FOR PLATFORMS:

When you are under inner pressure to always be on stage, when you are under inner pressure to manipulate people to invite you for events,

When you’re under an inner pressure that will cause you to move from pillar to post, begging churches and pastors to allow you minister in their programs, it shows you’re doing the work of ministry on The flesh.

Some music ministers have slept with pastors, event managers and organizers just to have them sing in a big platform.

Some ministers even pay event managers just to have them sing for 5 minutes on their stage.
When this is your case, you are employing the might of the flesh to do God service. The end product is frustration and an uncontrolled longing for the stage.

You are not supposed to beg for these things. If truly there is an Anointing on your head, that oil will find platforms for you.
Stay and be contented with God.

2. PRAYER-LESSNESS:
When you do not have priorities for prayers anymore for ministry,

When you can afford to keep running around, doing ministry at the expense of your prayer life. Your ministry soon becomes fleshy.

Prayers supplies the spiritual energy needed for physical ministerial impact, the absence of it supplies fleshy energy needed for ministerial exhaustion, frustration, and burning out.

3. REPULSIVE TO SERVICE AND SUBMISSION

– When you can no longer serve your leader and submit wholeheartedly,

– You find it uncomfortable supporting your leader in your choir or for your leader, that’s you growing fleshy.
Retrace your step now.

4. When ministering before thousands of audience makes you excited and you put in your best but ministering before where two or three are gathered makes you less excited and uninterested and you do it anyhow. You are highly, very, extremely, fleshy (permit my bad English 🙄). Its one of the signs that you are becoming self centred and loosing the priority of souls.

Every soul counts, whether one or two or thousands.
Put in your best to edify them and help them see Jesus.
It takes only the spirit of God to help you maintain this level of focus.

5. When other peoples success and breakthrough puts you under pressure, competition, envy and jealousy for them. Its a strong sign that you are more fleshy than spiritual.

6. When you find yourself comfortable in sin and compromise. When you don’t find anything wrong in fornicating about and still singing Gods name.
You have become very settled in the flesh. Repent now and be thou converted.

Retrace your step.
If you do ministry with the flesh you will fizzle and burn out soon.
If you see any of this sign at work in you. Give it an urgent attention.

Don’t be the type running with speed in the energy of the flesh.
After all said and done the most important thing still remains hearing “Well done thou good and faithful servant” from the master.

Don’t trade that for the temporal earthly hypes and achievements that all still makes up for vanity at best.
