#LEKKIMASSACRE: LET US PROVE ALL THINGS!

By Pastor Bimbo Animashaun

In this ongoing crisis rocking our nation which is triggered by a wholesale mishandling of the #EndSARS protests, we need to “test the spirits”; we need to establish the facts and leave sentiments apart.

The moment we allow gross misrepresentation of facts and that becomes our inaudible intent and driving force in prayers, we frustrate the process to deliver the expected results.

We don’t get results because we prayed in ANGER; we get results because we prayed in FAITH.

Even though there’s such as “righteous anger” but it is not based on lies or cooked up stories; it is based on justice and factual evidence.

Is it a fact that the President has not addressed the nation over Lekki killings which is an anomaly and is COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE by every stretch of imagination? Yes!

Is it a fact that that singular act raises more questions than answers owing to the degree of impact on our national life? Yes!

Is it a fact that Governor Babajide Sanwoolu ordered the Lekki Massacre? No!

Is it a fact that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo ordered the killings? No!

Is it a fact that when Vice President Osinbajo served as Acting President, he took some drastic decisions (including firing the then DG of DSS and confirming the then CJN) that attracted public commendation? Yes!

Is it a fact that as it stands now, Osinbajo is limited in the extent to which he can do “stuffs” because of his “hostile environment”? Yes!

Is it a fact that the Lekki Massacre could not be carried out without orders? Yes!

Is it a fact that if some persons in the military hierarchy gave such orders outside of the knowledge of the President and Commander in Chief, by now heads should have been rolling; people should have been fired and set up for criminal trial? Yes!

Is it a fact that some Nigerian youth were gunned down and cut off in their prime at Lekki Tollgate on 20 – 10 – 2020? Yes!

Now, it’s better to deal with facts and not sentiments. Those calling for the head of Osinbajo may not be privy to some things that man is doing over there which are not in full public glare.

To finger the governor of Lagos State as the mastermind behind Lekki Massacre after mixing with the protesters and interfacing with them virtually on a day-to-day basis may not pass the tests of MOTIVE, LOGIC and FACTS.

In it all, the root cause of the permutations and speculations is chiefly THE SILENCE OF MR. PRESIDENT.

And that leaves the people with no other option than to speculate. But as believers, Christians and children of God, we are to prove all things and hold fast that which is good.

We’re admonished by Scriptures to:

1 THESSALONIANS 5:21
Prove all things; hold fast that which is good.

Using unfounded speculations mixed with “wrongly-channeled” anger as our motivation for prayer and intercession for Nigeria will not produce the desired results.

Until the President speaks and acts accordingly, then it will be EXTREMELY DIFFICULT to disprove the claim that he ordered the Lekki Massacre in his capacity as the Commander in Chief of the armed forces of the Federal Republic Of Nigeria.

The silence of the President raises more questions than answers!

It is unacceptable at a time like this!!

It is well with our nation!!!

Peace!!!
